Frequently Asked Questions

Technical and operational questions answered directly.

What is the operational range?

With a single 5.1 kWh LiFePO₄ battery: 15–40 km and up to 6 hours of runtime, depending on terrain, load, and temperature. A second battery slides in under 1 minute with no tools and doubles both figures. For sustained operations, pre-positioned spare batteries eliminate range as a planning constraint.

What payload can it carry?

The 1TRACK 154 is rated for a direct payload on the deck and can tow significantly greater loads via the integrated hitch. In configured convoy mode — multiple units joined — total load capacity scales accordingly. Specific payload figures for your mission profile are provided during a technical briefing, where load, terrain, and slope interact.

What terrain and slope limits apply?

The 154 climbs and descends sustained 45-degree slopes under load. The 154" × 20" track generates extremely low ground pressure, giving reliable performance in deep snow, mud, sand, soft tundra, and Arctic sea ice. There are no exposed axles, differentials, or drivetrain components below the hull — the most common failure points in conventional platforms are simply absent. Operational temperature range is −50°C to +70°C.

How does it perform on noise and thermal signature?

Electric drive eliminates combustion noise and exhaust. The thermal signature is actively managed: a fully encapsulated structure minimizes direct heat radiation, and the track system continuously draws ambient air from ground level through the machine, dispersing heat before it concentrates. For defence applications, this translates to reduced acoustic and IR detectability. For commercial operators, it means access to noise-restricted job sites and night-work environments without variance or exemption requests.

What configurations are available?

The 1TRACK 154 ships in five configurations — from a 23-inch-wide single-track layout suited to narrow corridors, to wide-body and dual-unit convoy setups for heavy payload operations. Modular attachment points allow mission-specific fit-outs: cargo sleds, sensor arrays, medical modules, energy packs, and custom platforms developed in collaboration with the operator. The base unit stays constant; everything above it changes.

How does charging work in the field?

The onboard charger runs on standard AC power and reaches full charge in 3.5 hours. An external fast charger brings the battery from 0 to 80% in 2 hours. Battery swaps require under 1 minute and no tools — the most practical solution for extended field operations is a rotation of pre-charged spares rather than waiting on a charge cycle. The 2000 VA pure-sine inverter also lets the 154 power external equipment when grid access isn't available.

What does service and support look like?

The 154 is designed for low logistical burden. The electric drivetrain eliminates oil changes, fuel management, and most scheduled maintenance associated with combustion platforms. The encapsulated structure protects components that would otherwise be exposed to damage. Training for operator-level maintenance is included in deployment packages. For defence and institutional operators, 1TRACK works directly with procurement teams to structure service agreements, spare-parts inventory, and in-theatre support protocols appropriate to the operating environment.

What is the procurement process and lead time?

Procurement begins with a technical briefing where 1TRACK reviews the mission profile, operating environment, and configuration requirements. From confirmed order, lead time varies by configuration and volume — contact us for current scheduling. The platform is Canadian-manufactured, which simplifies procurement under Canadian federal contracting frameworks. For allied defence forces and research institutions, 1TRACK has experience navigating export requirements and can assist in structuring acquisition through appropriate channels.

Are financing options available?

Yes. 1TRACK works with operators across commercial, institutional, and government sectors to structure acquisition appropriately. Options include direct purchase, lease-to-own, and fleet-pricing arrangements for multi-unit deployments. For Canadian government and defence procurement, the platform qualifies under relevant domestic-content criteria. Speak with us about your budget cycle and we will structure the conversation accordingly.

Where is it designed and built?

The 1TRACK 154 is designed, manufactured, and assembled in Chicoutimi–Saguenay, Quebec, Canada — built by the team that has been developing tracked electric platforms for over a decade under MTT Manufacturier Inc. Canadian-built with no offshore assembly dependencies.
